Schedule IN-EDGE

This article explains what Schedule IN-EDGE is, who needs it, and provides simple line-by-line instructions to help you complete and file it correctly with your Indiana tax return.

Schedule IN-EDGE is an Indiana tax form used to claim the Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) Credit, a state incentive designed to encourage businesses and individuals to create and retain jobs in Indiana. This credit is administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and is only available to taxpayers who have received official certification for an approved project. Schedule IN-EDGE does not determine eligibility on its own; instead, it acts as the reporting document that connects your approved EDGE credit certification to your Indiana income tax return. Without attaching this schedule, the credit will be denied—even if certification was properly issued. The form applies to multiple filer types, including individuals, corporations, partnerships, S corporations, nonprofits, and pass-through entities, making it a critical component of Indiana tax compliance for qualifying EDGE participants.

Who Must File Schedule IN-EDGE?

You must complete and attach Schedule IN-EDGE if:

  • You received an EDGE credit certification from the IEDC
  • You are claiming the credit on an Indiana tax return
  • You received the credit through an IN K-1 from a partnership or S corporation

Failing to include this schedule will result in the EDGE credit being disallowed.

How To File Schedule IN-EDGE

Schedule IN-EDGE is not filed on its own. It must be:

  • Attached to your Indiana income tax return
  • Submitted either electronically (through approved software) or by paper
  • Included with the correct parent form, such as IT-40, IT-20, IT-65, IT-20S, IT-41, or others listed on the form

If filing by paper and you need more space, additional copies of the schedule may be attached.
